Maharashtra government approves PCMC's Rs 200 crore loan for development works

The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) will borrow from the Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) to fund its slum rehabilitation projects and the Economically Weaker Section housing scheme.

The cash-strapped civic body had to resort to borrowing after it undertook massive development projects like the widening and concretisation of Pune-Mumbai highway, development of BRTS routes and slum rehabilitation projects in the last four years.
