City road projects likely to get a leg up

THE Rs 1,700-crore Integrated Road Development Project (IRDP) for Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad first envisioned in 2004, and stuck for long for a variety of reasons — divergent political views, inability of the local civic bodies to pay their dues — may soon get all obstacles cleared.

Smooth ride

The University flyover was finally inaugurated by freedom fighters Vishnu Narhari Golawane and wife Sheela on Friday. They had participated in the 1942 Quit India movement. The traffic police will time the signals along the route to facilitate traffic flow to Pashan, Baner and Aundh. Traffic wardens will also be deputed.City road projects likely to get a leg up
