Due date for filing I-T returns has been extended to October 31

Pune, Sangli and Kolhapur districts:

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) in a statement ( Press Note No. 402/92/2006-MC (20 of 2009), dated 25-9-2009 ) has stated that the due date of filing income tax returns, September 30, 2009, of taxpayers assessed to income tax in the districts of Pune, Sangli and Kolhapur has been extended to October 31, 2009.

The official notification in this regard will be issued in due course, the statement said, adding that all corporate houses and businesses with a turnover of over Rs40 lakh in these districts can file returns by October 31, 2009.
