PCMC likely to withdraw water cut soon

The 20 per cent water cut, imposed in the Pimpri-Chinchwad township on July 7, is likely to be withdrawn in a few days.

Additional municipal commissioner Subhash Dumbre told TOI on Tuesday that the Pavana dam has 76 per cent water storage at present. 'If the water level reaches 80 per cent of the total capacity, then we can think of withdrawing the water cut.'

The 20 per cent water cut was imposed on July 7, when the Pavana dam was left with water for just 80 days. Before the cut, the PCMC used to lift 367 MLD water from the river at Ravet. Now it lifts 297 MLD water.
