Bhusari Colony on Paud Road, Kothrud, was freed of tanker lobby - "Water Affidavit" on DNA

Corporator Bandu Khemse who fought legal battle blasts PMC:

"The problem of water scarcity in Ahmednagar Road area is not of a technical nature. It is the unwillingness of the civic body to address the problem. If administration decides, it can resolve the problem in a month. However, that won't happen as the administration has joined hands with the tanker lobby," says Bandu Khemse.
It was Khemse whose crusade helped end the water crisis in the Bhusari Colony.

Following his agitation, the Bombay high court ordered the PMC to provide water to the tax paying citizens in the colony for free.

Court also ordered the PMC in 2005 that if it is not able to provide tap water, it has to provide water by tanker without charging the citizens. Abhay Khairnar - DNA
